Buffers and salts - For the sake of your proteinThe purpose of a downstream buffer is to create a defined environment for maintaining biomolecules in a stable native form while retaining their full activity. The advantage here is the minimized risk, so come to us and play it safe, from start to finish.
Broad selection to choose fromAs a large buffer manufacturer, Merck offers a wide range of organic and inorganic buffers and buffer salts, specifically tested for use in downstream purification. Protect your proteinRecent additions to the range include buffer salts such as phosphates, acetates or citrates in the quality grade EMPROVE® bio. Manufacturing processes have been optimized by minimizing microbiological contamination and endotoxin concentrations – enzymatic activities of DNases, RNases and proteases are not detectable. This is what makes these buffers particularly suitable for biochromatography. Your protein is so valuable that it should not be put at risk so shortly before the end of manufacture. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information on EMPROVE® or for the full product catalogue.
AdditivesFor cell disruption, our portfolio includes disruptive agents such as Toluol, Triton X-100, and Lysozyme. Also available: our virus inactivation and refolding agents tripeptide glutathione (reduced), caprylic acid and Gluthathione, all of pharmacopoeial quality.
